Tributes have been paid to a “true champion of the people of Churchdown” who died over the weekend.
Gloucestershire county Councillor Bill Whelan (LB, Churchdown) was a member of a number of committees at Shire Hall.
He was a member of the appeals board, the appeals committee, the police and crime panel, the safety and licensing committee and the traffic regulation committee, as well as being the spokesman for highways and flooding.
