Thieves snatch cigarettes in second Tesco burglary of the summer

Police want to hear anything following the break-in at the Churchdown supermarket

Thieves made off with cigarettes after breaking into a supermarket in Gloucestershire.

The raiders targeted the Tesco store in Churchdown in the early hours of Friday – the second raid at the store in three months.

Police are appealing for information about the latest theft at the Cheltenham Road East branch at 2.45am.

A spokesman said: “Police are seeking information about a burglary at a supermarket where a number of cigarettes were stolen. Offenders forced entry to the store on Cheltenham Road East, Churchdown at approximately 2.45am on Friday. Enquiries are ongoing but anyone with information about this burglary is asked to call police on 101 and quote incident 29 of August 10.”

The store was raided in June as well, with thieves making off with cigarettes from the store at around 3am on Monday, June 4. The police helicopter was called in to help with the pursuit of suspects.
