A funeral service is set to take place at Chirst Church in Cehltenham on Tuesday, September 23 at 1pm with those attending asked to wear bright colours.
The family has also requested that if people wish to give donations, that they give them to Diabetes UK or online at www.justgiving.com/CarmelJones62
Carmel had a passion for netball and her enthusiasm for teaching was shown through her dedication, described as an “incredible lady”.
Headteacher Sue Turner said the news had come as a “terrible shock” to the school community and head of PE Matt Rees said she had inspired several generations.
