Cordons in place around flat and car park after suspected assault and altercation in Churchdown

Police are investigating an incident in Churchdown which happened in the early hours of Friday.

It is believed an assault took place at a flat in Golden Vale and police officers have put a cordon in place while their investigations continue.

There is also a cordon on a nearby car park.

A police spokesman said they were called at 4.45am and a 30-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He remains in custody at this time.

The spokesman added: “It is not yet not known how many people were involved, but one man suffered a minor injury to his hand which received hospital treatment.

“We are appealing for anyone who was involved or any witnesses who may have heard or seen an altercation in the Churchdown area in the early hours of this morning to contact police.”

Anyone with information, who has not yet spoken to police, should call 101 and quote incident 45 of 9 March. Information can also be given anonymously to independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
