Churchdown’s Newsagent & Post Office McColls is up for sale.
The troubled retailer suffered a near-£100 million loss and more shop closures have prompted McColl’s to scrap its dividend. The retailer, which has about 1,550 shops that trade as McColl’s and Martin’s newsagents, wants to shut 120 stores a year until it reduces the estate to 1,100 shops.
In a document seen by MyChurchdown the sale of the Churchdown store is part of “a company disposal”. The nearby Hucclecote store & Post Office has already closed.
MyChurchdown has approached McColls for comment.
