Chosen Hill School’s legend, Carmel Jones

Thousands of tributes have poured in for ‘Chosen Hill School’s legend’, Carmel Jones.

Pupils, past and present and staff have paid tribute to Carmel, who taught at the school in Churchdown for 29 years.

Carmel, who died following a fall at her home on Wednesday, worked as a senior leader and a member of the PE faculty.

She lived in Cheltenham and had a passion for netball. Her enthusiasm for teaching was shown through her dedication.

Jeanine Jones paid tribute to Carmel on twitter. She said: “RIP to another Chosen Hill legend Carmel Jones, such sad news.”

In June this year thousands of tributes poured in for popular and devoted history and PE teacher Gareth Warren after he lost his battle with cancer. He worked at the school for 37 years.

Former pupil Darren Gibbons posted on facebook: “Mr Warren and Now Mrs Jones. Chosen Hill legends. RIP Carmel. Thank you for the memories. X”

Roseanna Louise said: “Very sad news, she was always full of energy and had a great passion for her job. Someone who staff and students could always rely on for support. My thoughts are with her family and all at CHS x.”

Katie Tucker said: “Tragic news, RIP Mrs Jones x.”
