A woman says she was grabbed by a man who “appeared to be drunk” in a quiet area of Gloucestershire.
The incident happened while the woman was running on Chosen Hill in Churchdown on Monday (February 22) when a man who smelt of alcohol tried to grab her arm as she ran past him.
Though not physically injured, the woman is said to be distressed by what happened.
Police are now investigating and will be conducting patrols in the area.
A spokesman from Gloucestershire Constabulary said:
Police received a report that a man was acting suspiciously around a woman while she was running in Churchdown on Monday (February 22). It was reported that the woman was running in the Chosen Hill area at around 12.20pm when a man, who appeared to be drunk, attempted to grab her arm as she ran past him.
The woman was not physically injured but distressed by what happened. The man was described as being in his 50’s/60’s, had messy grey hair, smelt of alcohol and was wearing an all grey outfit. Police have not received any other reports of this man acting suspiciously however the Tewkesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team will now be conducting reassurance patrols in the area.
Investigating officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or has information to get in contact quoting incident 204 of 22 February. Anyone else who believes that something similar may have happened to them is also asked to report this.
