The Queen visits Gloucestershire

The Queen brought a splash of colour to Imjin Barracks near Gloucester today.

Her Majesty was resplendent in a fuchsia coat and hat, complete with a red feather, and matching black gloves and handbag, as she visited the Defence Business Service (DBS) and the Headquarters of NATO’s Allied Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC).

During Her Majesty’s visit to Innsworth House on the base, the Queen also opened a new briefing room at the MOD’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) and the MOD Medal Office (MODMO), where she was introduced to staff who prepare and engrave medals and honours for dispatch to recipients across the UK and worldwide.

The Queen toured the JCCC, MOD’s permanently manned operational centre for casualty administration, where Her Majesty met the team who help families deal with the administrative challenges following a death.

The Queen was then invited to officially open the MODMO and the JCCC’s new briefing room at Innsworth House, where she unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.
