Road between Churchdown and Brockworth closed

A crash has closed the Brockworth Road between Churchdown and Brockworth this morning after damage to a power line.

Police said at 8am that the road could be closed for up to four hours.

They said: “Due to a road traffic collision this morning, the Brockworth Road between Churchdown and Brockworth will be closed in both directions for up to four hours while repairs are carried out on a power line.”

 The call came in at 5.34am this morning, when a silver Renault Clio crashed into the pole by Woodfield Farm. There was reportedly a lot of a damage to the car.

The airbag in the car was deployed and it is currently unknown if anyone was injured.

Western Power attended the incident along with the Fire services.

The road is expected to be closed until lunchtime whilst the power cable pole is replaced.
