Work has begun at making the new Elmbridge Court ‘hamburger’ roundabout between Gloucester and Cheltenham ‘intelligent’.
And it has reportedly meant some delays for motorists using one of the busy approach roads today.
Work on switching over to an intelligent signals system, that can respond to traffic flows and queues, has started on the roundabout at the junction of the A40 Golden Valley Bypass, the A417 and Cheltenham Road East.
Gloucestershire County Council told us:
“Work on switching over to an “intelligent” signals system has started. The new system will detect queue lengths and adjust timings to minimise queues. We apologise for any delays you experience while we get the new system synchronised.”
