Back by popular demand…..
Following the success of last year’s Christmas Concert, at which there was a wonderful festive atmosphere, the Wide Valley Singers will be performing again on Saturday 15th December at 7.30pm at St Andrew’s Church, Churchdown, in support of the Samara’s Aid Appeal (SAA).
The programme will include well known Christmas numbers as well as traditional carols and there will also be a short video presentation giving up-to-date news of the work of SAA.
During the interval mince pies, mulled wine and a non-alcoholic punch will be served and raffle tickets available to purchase, for which the prizes will be a selection of fabulous Christmas Hampers.
SAA provides aid to those affected by the war in Syria and the Middle East. In just four years it has sent over 100 articulated lorries and shipping containers of humanitarian and medical aid to the Middle East and clothed more than 250,000 displaced people.
One of the greatest priorities in Syria is for frontline, emergency medical care. Earlier this year with its Syrian partner, SAA opened a hospital in the Deir ez-Zor region to provide desperately needed medical care for those in the area. In addition, last year four of the shipping containers used originally to transport aid out to Syria were converted into “Meditainers” providing life-saving medical and surgical care, each one fitted with a small ICU, operating room and assessment area. As these Meditainers are transportable, they have been moved to support this hospital so are being used where the need is greatest.
Please come and bring your friends to enjoy an entertaining evening of festive music whilst supporting the invaluable work of the Samara’s Aid Appeal.
Tickets, £7 including refreshments, available at St Andrew’s Church Office: 01452 712154, email@example.com
