A secondary school in Gloucestershire has closed two entire year groups after a confirmed coronavirus case.
Pupils in Year 8 and 10 have been ordered to quarantine at Chosen Hill School, Brookfield Road, Churchdown. Students will now have to isolate for 14 days.
Chiefs said there has also been a small number of suspected coronavirus infections at the school as well, and the situation is under constant review.
Headteacher Kirsten Harrison sent this letter to parents today (November 12):
We regret to report that we have a confirmed positive Covid-19 case in the school and a small number of suspected cases. The school worked closely with the DFE and PHE to determine the best course of action to respond to this situation. The school will be closing to Year 8 and Year 10 from Thursday the 12 November.
Full details of the arrangements will be sent out to all parents before the end of the school day. We can assure you that we will be keeping the situation under close review and will invite students in Year 8 and Year 10 back into school as soon as it is possible to do so or no later than the required self-isolation period.
